Crative frenzy...

So after a month of dry spell, I have finished the Hoonie ( with tissue box :oP ) and have created a poor little girl and her pet. She is definitley inspired by the blogs I have been reading and Mrs. Bo's orphanes. It somehow gave me permission to create something with more heart and a bigger piece of my soul and alot less cute. I am really pleased with the way she/they came out and pics will follow shortly. ( Im waiting for DH to have an evening off so he can help me modify the candle holder into a chair.)

And the most exciting part is the etsy shop he is going to help me set up. I seem to be about the most computer illiterate person I know, so him being able to help me do this is a God send!! And the best part is I dont even really care if they sell, its going to be hard to give them up if they do.

Almost done!

The little hoonie thats been hanging around my house is almost done. Im pretty happy with the paint job in general, just needs some touch up ( it seems one pupil is bigger then the other giving him a slightly drugged look..lol) Anyway, as soon as Im done with this post Im off to start on the Steampunk dolls head.. my favorite part! I love to sculpt faces and Im so excited about the metal pieces Ive found to use with her. Happy day

cold little hoonie...

Heres the little hoonie Ive been working on. He seems to be taking after me. Its been way too cold here ( around 0 degrees for the last week) and you can see the winter in him. Im thinking of making him holding a tissue box.. any thoughts?

Well the hoonie is about 75% done. He seems to be reflecting my feelings right now. It has been way too close to 0 degrees outside for the last week or so, and so he is very wintery. Im thinking of putting a box of tissues in his hands.. what do you think? ( seems I cant get any pics to publish... will try again tomorow!)

Angelic Choir

So here they are, my choir of angels. (Chorus of angels?... hmmm, Im pretty sure they arent called a herd.. although since they have wings they could be a flock...lol) Anyway now that they are done I am free to begin something new. I have a wonderful tute for a maryhoonie waiting for me to start, and then there is the nagging steampunk doll that keeps appearing in my dreams. I am so excited at the possiblities! A new year, a new me, a new begining!!!

Success..

Finally! Im down to one more head and two sets of hands, and the ornaments that were Christmas elves will all be angels. YEAH!! I cant wait to get on to something else!! Its good to have something go right so Im happy to stay inside, the weather outside is frightening. The temps havent been so bad themselves, but there is about two inches of ice over everything. Makes it very hard to walk outside and ( of course) the wood stove is down hill from the door. Nothing like carrying an armload of wood with nails sticking out to the stove down an icey slope. Off to finish, pics to follow.. maybe even tonight!!

visions of dolls to come

Do you dream of your creations? Last night I had a dream about the next doll I will be working on. It was very detailed in shape and color. Right down to the accessories she will have. In some ways it makes it easier to create, since I have a definite direction. In some ways it hurts because I am trying to "live up to" my imagination, making it just like the picture in my dream. I suppose no one else would ever know if it is close or not, but I do. And I really do think that is all that counts. If I am not pleased with something, if I do not see it as almost flawless, then its not good enough to sell or even give away. Those pieces are sometimes trashed, but most often they are kept for parts. Or at least to let me know where not to go next time ;O)
